Here of late
nothing in this world is great
not even the food on my plate
diabetes has been my fate
If I don't be careful I could be
looking at heaven or hells gate
However there are some good
things on my slate

For one we should be thankful
for being spared a little longer
and for any strength that
makes us stronger
I still have a home
that I can freely roam
I still have a job to work
which is an added perk
even though at times it
drives me kind of beserk

I appreciate the good parts of
the world I live
I still have a chance to love and forgive
We see others world torn apart
it does affect ones soul and heart
However life is such
at times can be too much
but it should be a great world
until disaster personally touch
