Let he with words cast the first poem, and then verse up a storm, as life and others move to harm, but don't expect very much charm, as hardly any gold weight your arm.
Once tagged poet
the brain will act like it know it
and most of the time show it
thinking of verse to write
almost day and night
not voluntarially
but mostly automatically
and don't get into rhyme
you'll try it most of the time
even if it doesn't work
not rhyming will perk
It becomes appealing
as life starts dealing
to verse out your feeling
Let not your pen be trouble
as your life problems double
Each and everyday
as sickness and pain make their play
and let nothing
which will always be something
get in the way
of what you have to say
Depending on how good
but still don't expect much pay
as your verse and life run astray
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Not only do you rhyme well, but the poem says a lot too. Very well done, must have taken a while for this one.
