As I travel in and around,
I notice that a lot of people are down.
Consumed in habits from their lifes adventure,
Some so bad that they have a hard time finding a cure.

In a family cookout,
My wife and I wanted to check out,
Just go on our way,
because somethings never change and go away,
Some are still up to the same old play.
Ten years ago,
the same was so.
So I guess you know,
it is still so.

What happen to doing better,
and trying to get better.
A habit formed,
a life forever harmed.

Some of us are stronger,
and endure longer.
Everyone doesn't have the same copeing energy,
so some lack the energy,
to take their lives back,
and get back on track.

Alcohol and drugs lead the way,
in destroying a persons life play.
These habits can really run a persons life astray.
What starts out as just a try,
ends up being a life long cry,
and in the skillet the person does fry.

I have always hated bad habits,
because they can have a person hopping like rabbits.

It's a game that's hard to win,
and this is one reason it's best not to even begin.

We all are inflicted with some vices,
and now as I look back on my vices,
I'm very glad that I was strong enough to resist,
with a strong fist.

So as I travel to unravel my own habitual habits,
I'm so glad that I don't have to hop around like rabbits.

I am not and have never really been hooked,
and I've never had to worry about being booked.

Oh sure I have my problems,
but my problems don't have me.

Bottle of wine,
from the grape vine,
When you gonna let me get sober,
leave alone let me go home,
let me go home and start over.
