Perjury, Honesty, and facing up to self and others.

I've always had a good heart,
which has helped me from falling apart.
I've always felt for others,
even my jealous brothers.
I've always felt for myself,
and my own personal health.

I don't believe in right out lying.
So I've been constantly defying.
Here in my older years,
honesty seems to help in facing my fears.
And it has become an obsession,
so I've been making some confession.

Confessing is where the problem comes in,
because this I've got too end.
I've been revealing to much about myself,
even too myself.
Some things that I've not wanted to face for years,
are now almost causing me tears.
Example, my mother,
and my older brother,
I knew they had some serious problems,
but don't we all.
The truth is I use to think my mother walked on water.
When I actually faced up,
My mind became terribly corrupt.

After I grew up and faced peoples true faces,
I started dealing my coping aces.
I didn't speak to my mother for years,
It took me awhile to deal with the truth of my older peers.
Especially my mean father.
Who never did bother.
I heard someone say,
he never wanted his children anyway,
so For years I ignored,
until one day I almost got floored.
After all the years have past,
I've faced the truth at last.

It's a pain,
but now I'm out of the rain.

Facing up to the truth can be a pain,
but it can increase your gain.
Some people believe honesty is the most important aspect,
and this I'm not trying to correct.

I feel the same,
but I've began to change my game,
because I feel that being smart is more important than honesty.
If you're involved in a life and death situation,
and you reveal the truth about your relation,
this could cause your summation.
So if you want to survive longer,
you lie or end up being a goner.

I found out first hand about perjury,
lying on the stand can cause you some serious injury.
I didn't lie,
but I knew my sergeant lied.
I was found guilty as tried,
because he and others lied.
Perjury isn't lying on the witness stand,
Perjury is lying and getting caught red hand.

Take our former President Clinton,
he perjured himself and got caught,
then came the media assault.
With all those loop holes and people in his scene,
he should have came clean.
The good Reverend Jesse Jackson,
came clean about his betrayal action.
This was the smart thing to do,
because it would have been very hard to hide something so blue.
I respect the good reverend more,
because he came clean to the core.

So take your choice,
and be guided by your own inner voice.

To lie,
or not to lie!

G

Excellent points. As Emily Dickinson wrote:

"Tell all the Truth but tell it slant --
Success in Circuit lies
Too bright for our infirm Delight
The Truth's superb surprise

As Lightning to the Children eased
With explanation kind
The Truth must dazzle gradually
Or every man be blind -- "

Grady:

This is so good. Thank you for sharing yourself with us.

There is always some darker side with me and my parents for they don't treat all siblings equally, but I must say that I love them just the same no matter what. I knew I might even be ended up with nothing after their deaths, but that doesn't stop me from loving them. This is just me.

I had a childhood recurring dream that my mom was giving out cookies, she gave to everyone but had forgotten about me. I cried in that dream every time. I can't remember how many times during my childhood this dream had come to me, and I must tell you that this reflects how I was treated and my feelings at the time; but learning to respect them and love them and forgive them has made me a better person.

Even now, no matter what I do I feel like I'm not as good as they wanted me to be. There's always this feeling that I'm not good.

...but I forgive them and love them just the same. There, a little bit of me for the world to see too.

Mom is wonderful!...but I just don't know why I dreamt that way. Sometimes, I do feel guilty to have this dream.
