Christopher Reeves a strong man,
really stands out as a true superman.
Got throwed from his saddle,
now a wheel chair he does straddle,
climbing back on the horse,
he powerfully continues his course,
makes no difference physically,
it's his strength of resolve mentally.
All my life I've been following his example,
hitting the ground,
getting back up and moving around.
Mentally drained on many occasions,
hit by many of lifes mean persuasions,
As each day passes by,
getting back in the saddle becomes my victory cry.
Life wasn't meant to be a walk in the park,
it seems truly at times a puzzle in the dark.
Blindly we all navigate around,
until the lighthouse in our minds comes abound.
The eyes can be opened wide,
still blindness does reside.
Oh sure we thought we saw it coming,
until we start succumbing.
Blindsided by fate,
fear becomes our running mate.
Pain is a gift from the creator,
but should not become our dictator.
Some fear is normal,
extraordinary fear is abnormal.
During my life time I've faced both roads,
and still managed to carry my loads.
We shouldn't fear fear,
or misunderstand pain.
At some point both become our blessings,
and part of our turkey dressings.
It is all right to acknowledge our fears,
to feel the pain in our tears.
Some fear might save our lives,
knowing that something might hurt,
could keep us from passing into dirt.
The key,
only suffer when absolutely necessary,
don't let nothing stop us,
basically embrace and understand fear,
then keep ourselves in high gear.
Depending on job or interest,
simply do our best.
Being all we can be,
will definitely set the heart and soul free.
The plight of oath.
If you sign up to be a soldier,
you may have to fight and die like a soldier.
It will be too late to run,
after the shooting has begun.
Afraid of the gun,
don't sign up to shoot the gun.
If you sign up for the policeman or fireman job,
you may have to finish the job,
or die performing the job.
It might be too late to run,
after the shooting or fire has begun.
9-11 was a good example of this.
There's such thing as fate,
the final day we reach heaven or hells gate.
Who knows the final outcome,
or when we will finally succumb?
Survival becomes a personal goal,
buried deep down in each heart and soul.
The price we are willing to pay,
until our final day.
I didn't sign up for life,
or its misery and strife.
I had no choice,
or voice.
I do my best,
and let God do the rest.

"only suffer when absolutely necessary"
I suffer because I can, I reach into suffering, to clarify mine, and humanities, being. However, I am not a deadheaded worrymonger, mostly, there is laughter in life, also, I just don't care as much as I did when I was innocent and 9/11 was a remote possibility. Not all of us can be heros and clowns, there must be the recorders of life's ups and downs, you take the ups, I'll expound the downs. :)
