Tumbling, rolling, totally washed away,
but there was no water in play.
Life preserver I reached for,
your hand grabbed onto mine,
I manage to grab on,
still I'm sucked way upon.
I need air,
but you don't seem to care.
Are you really there?
Totally soaked,
about to give in,
you show your hand again.
Life preserver I grab for it,
I'm still reaching,
still tumbling,
still gasping for air,
are you really there?
I'm splashed by reality,
soaked in totality.
My life is leaving with my breath,
still you step in my path.
You hold your hand out,
I reach out,
Life preserver for me.
You embrace my body,
warm my soul,
tease my heart,
pulling me to life,
as the tidal wave leaves the shore,
you give me breath,
so I have air,
I guess you do care,
at least you were there.
