partying to a good music sound.
Bringing in the new,
sending the past askew.
Hopes for a brand new you,
one that's more loving and true ?
Making the new years resolution,
trying to find a workable solution,
knowing you'll never complete the motion.
So goes it to the ocean.

A resolution swimming with the fish,
one served on a broken dish,
ending up being a phony wish.
Forget the oath of promise made,
you'll get no luck with the ace of spade.
But still you try coming in out of the shade.

Standing in the shade you chill,
then you stumble back down the hill.
The new year ends up being the old year,
then you forget all that was dear.
Back to handling the old fear,
forgetting until the next new year.

Boomerang of repeated action,
still no worthwhile satisfaction.
Soon forgotten in mind,
gone from sight,
soaked in resolution plight,
have a happy new year night.
