The point was daring
half step
frozen in time
like a clock that couldn't tick
and unwind
even when the bird flew up
in a wing battling storm
the dog stayed frozen
without moving a hair
just waiting for the shot
that brings the bird back down
for his unwavering care
the dog picks up the bird so softly
not a single feather flairs
proudly returning the prize
to his master
for the joy of the moment
they both share

Never had a dog hunt with me. But it would've been great to have one.
I just watched a true story last night titled Arthur the King. It's about an endurance race held in the Dominican Republic. A stray, befriends the leader of a four person team and travels with them the entire length of the difficult course.
They name him Arthur. But Arthur is on his last legs as a dog. His new found friend decides to take him to America.
