Christmas poem

‘Twas The Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the school
Not a text book was open, now wasn’t that cool
The offices were locked up, the library was too
Yes even the custodian, had let go of his crew
He sat in his broom closet, preparing to part
When all of a sudden, he sat up with a start
Up on the rooftop there arose such a clatter
He climbed through the roof hatch to see what was the matter
There stuck on the chimney was a jolly old fellow
All suited in red, very happy and mellow
With a sleigh full of presents pulled by eight tiny deer
“My goodness” he chuckled “I think I’m stuck here
I ducked for the steeple and I dodged round yon tower
And low and behold, I just ran out of power
Now I am fast here, can’t seem to get free
If you could help me, please just come and see”
The custodian surveyed the sleigh from each side
Said “You’ll be free in no time to continue your ride”
Then down to his truck box he went in a second
Tire jack and rope would be needed he reckoned
After few minutes work Santa Clause was quite pleased
The task was completed, his sleigh had been freed
“Now how can I thank you, you’ve saved Christmas Eve
Is there something I could give you, what would you receive”
“The smiles on young faces come this Christmas morn
Is payment enough for the troubles I’ve borne
Yet for this world’s children, I have but this wish
Let them feel loved, my request simply this
There are too many suffering, so many in pain
Free your White Spirit, so love’s joy they’ll gain
Allow the rich insight, that they share with the poor
Rid the world of all hate, afford greed no allure
Give governments intelligence, to direct moneys right
Spend it on their people, not machinery to fight
Put Christ back in Christmas, not just toys and gifts
Open hearts to God’s love, their souls let Him lift
My wish is quite simple, the concept’s not new
There still is a chance, see what you can do”
“This cause is quite noble, yet it’s to make people heed
That’s been the problem, but I will plant the seed”
And off with his reindeer, he streaked into the night
A great mission he carried, to end this world’s plight
Down again to his broom closet, the custodian made his way
Praying Santa would succeed, Christ birth anew this day

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
