I hold this razor.. Contemplating This decision.. Do I make the final swipe.. Just one long incision. Then I can lock my door.. Go to sleep.. Never wake.. Pray to God my soul to keep.. I look at my arms.. I see scars from memories gone by.. Do I really want to remake mistakes.. Take my life.. No matter whose heart I break? God, I hate this!! What have you done? I want desperately To go Into eternal sleep.. But I cannot do this.. Knowing my sons would feel the guilt and weep.. I am trapped here! Once again Perhaps the next time This razor will win.
Erica your poems always have lessons and depth ....

Oh Erica..when you write so powerfully like this...
it takes my breath away..thanks for the nice note..
I also believed what you feel is true about that one
sin...and it has never been proven exactly what the
bible means...so you might be right...love your
poetry...floria

You can never allow it to control you, the hurt or the razor.
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
Brilliant work and Dynamic graphic, perfect for the poem!
Stay strong
