Buttercup

Heavy darkness never ends.
Little girl waits quietly
praying he will not..
come to her room again.
She closes her eyes and prays
To her higher power.
To help her escape to the Ivory tower.
The safe tower
of her mind..
that takes away
the painful times.
That lets her forget the shame..
of having to plead with Daddy again.
Sometimes
he will not let her mind escape..
Leaving her to feel
all the pain and hate...
Leaving her body to suffer
Her heart to ache.
When he is done..
he covers her up..
He leans over and says
....good night buttercup.
He leaves the room..
she is alone now
All alone
in her own private hell..
At one time a little girl....
Now an empty shell.
With every invasion into her small body did go..
little by little
a young fragile soul.

This is gutwrenching Erica. A desperately sad subject poignantly expressed
