From forever ago..

Poem Artwork

In a vacuum
she seeks her heart..
Frozen with fear..
She finds
No tomorrow..
She tastes..
She sees..
She feels
Yet knows..
She is but
an illusion..
She is a ray
of light
That reflects..
Emptiness..
Her capacity to trust.
Grinds with torturous
silent screams.
All is halted..
Life stops..
People grow weary..
Deep dark memories..
Take bites of her soul..
From deep within..
A place she
does not know..
She is but
a reflection
of a human..
Once she
Could love..
Be loved..
Now distant
in the wake
of the roads
of fate she
has traveled..
Miles and miles..
She has walked..
This road of life..
To find..
She has to stop..
Barricaded ..
Dead end
The dead-end
of her mind..
A memory
She does not
really know.
Does not quite
remember..
But there..
In the deepest places..
within her..
Desperately wanting out..
Wanting the pain
to scream forth
But her mind holds
the secrets..
That her soul craves..
Yet fights and fears
To finally be freed
Simple peace
with herself..
Has become
her dream.

each word, every step..just so painful, and so damned beautifully written at the same time, and oh, you, how much a wish for that peace inside... just raw, again and unafraid to speak, and chilling, gave me a chill...peace
within her

A good expression of feeling. Don't you find that the more you write, the more you can release the pain? ~Joseph

Wow, what a tortuous road you took this reader on, Erica...the utter hopelessness was wrenching.

Erica, as always you convey your pain so beautifully.

I have yet to learn of a way to extinguish the pain of memories. I would rather my mind learn to dwell elsewhere within my head. Now if I could only find the teacher.
