Serpent Green Eyes Looking Through Blue

Poem Artwork

It was the snake..
A serpent..
Wound in my mind..
Green evil eyes .
Peering through blue..
Leaking poisonous
venom into my blood..
Making me see
Only the bad..
The unsaid
The unfair..
The despair..
Wound up tight
Inside my brain..
Waiting to make
Me change..
Coiling itself
Around my heart..
Until it felt hollow..
Stone cold..
An emptiness like
I have never known..
Pounding my hope
Into dust..
Taken over by this serpent..
Anger
Frustration
ANGER
Damnation..
This child within me..
Green with envy..
But refusing to be seen..
Just green eyes
Looking through blue..
Maybe this makes
No sense to anyone..
Doesn't matter anymore..
This serpent has
been evicted..
I am sure it is out looking
For it's next victim..
I now see you..
Through MY OWN
True blue eyes..
And I love you..
As the woman I am..
As the lost child
That I was..
Yes..
I love you..
For no reason..
Just because..
No more evil green
Looking through blue.
Just me loving
You..

Exquisite in its honest depth and perception, Erica, bringing your past full circle in the making of You, a lovely, caring, sensitive individual who can so touch people with your words. I love this piece, wish I had penned it. I let the green-eyed monster loose years ago, just as your piece so eloquently states. Hugs to you. :)

You,Erica...always, always so honest...I love this, it sneaks and coils around the reader, in a way...until we see you free and those beautiful blue eyes glowing with the passion and gift you write with...and you ARE!!!

... Emotions are waves over the sea of the hearts, colliding each other until they become foam

and are blown by the winds of perceptions and mingle with the clouds of imagination to be

transformed into dews of revelation and drop themselves into the pot of poemization to be

mixed with knowledge and poetized with words that define their vibration into "Serpent Green Eyes Looking Through Blue".

I have enjoyed this poem. A true expression of the inner picture of a heart photographed when the naked soul left the shower box of tears.

I Salute the Author of “Serpent Green Eyes Looking Through Blue”.

Very unique and individual, which brings its own truth out even more to shine in the darkness. Many of us can agree and relate well with this poem and its oddball aspects (just joking ;) everyone). I thorougly enjoyed it because it was beautifully true and held so much anger... but it didn't feel like an angsty poem, but more a poem full of hope and faith in one's own self... which is something that is becoming more beautiful everyday. It's a tragedy, really, that not everyone can find hope and faith in themselves as you've led us here to believe of you in this poem, today. Brilliant.

Warm Love,
*-Brittany-*
