Somethings never die....

I don't care
that she abused me..
Abandoned me..
Broke my heart..
Split my soul..
I remember every
cruel thing ..
That was done and said..
My heart is speckled
with tiny scars
For every single time
She wished me dead
BUT ..
She is still my mother..
I could never be near her..
Never trust her like a
daughter should..
But if she ever needs me..
I will go to her
as I would any friend
Because
She is still my Mother..
I know you think I'm crazy..
That I would pick up and go..
But remember
she gave me life..
She helped form this soul..
I know the sickness within her
Is all that you see..
But remember
Without this woman
I would not be..
I still have many scars.
from the beatings
That she gave..
But I cannot let myself..
Take that hatred
To my grave..
So she may not be perfect..
She is often very cruel.
But she was the one
who brought me
into this world.
And there is still
a little part of me
who wishes I could be
her loved little girl..
A little part that
will forever love her..
Because after all..
She is still my Mother.
yes. despite all she has done to you, "she is still your mother", and you still love her. that is the way it should be. but this is a very heartwrenching write; it ripped my soul as i read this! powerful, emotional write! :( ((((HUGS)))
This was one I could relate to and understand so well, but never write such a beautiful and excellent poem as you have done here, expressing so well, what a few us feel on this day,
So well expressed, and just exposes the loving and gentle nature you possess.
