She only cries when
it's raining..
Drops of salvation
from the skies..
In the rain no one sees
her heart break
No one sees her lies....
They know not
that she cries..
Tears hidden in
every drop..
Never will they know..
She has been waiting
for this rain..
To finally let her
feelings flow..
To let free of some
of this pain
That few would ever know..
She cries for her loss..
For all she cannot be..
She cries from the guilt.
She carries religiously..
The tears roll down her face
Fall to the ground..
Water rising fast..
She prays that
she will drown..
She looks up to heavens..
Screams..
God, take me please!!
But God does not want her..
So in this life
She has to hide..
Pretending she is
someone..
pretending she is
alive..
Knowing her soul has
gone..
With the flowing of the
tides..
The flood she alone
created ...
Shed from her own
eyes..
Like a waterfall of
emotion..
Flowing to the
sea..
Never really
knowing..
Where she is meant
to be..
Erica this is deep and emotionally very powerful .Like death where is your sting .

Good stuff. I saw in your bio that you wrote for a band and it is telling in your poem. I almost song the words as I read them. Ditto's on the "good stuff."
This is so real for some people. My daughter Mariah wrote a screenplay about this very girl. In her play the girl is "Alex: and you've given Alex a face here. I am sending this to mariah to read. I know she will cry because of her own tender heart.
Lovely write considering the details of life here.

Dear Erica, To sad for me!
However you captured the sadness brilliantly with this excellent write. You're a great writer my lovely friend. Oh I almost forgot to thank you for the forwarded e-mail. It reminded me of Ripley's "Believe it or Not".
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
