Every smile that she kept.. Every touch she held back.. Her very soul under attack.. by her own inability to react to life.. To look beyond the here and now.. To catch a glimpse of hope .. somehow,, To hold it in a secret place.. But she throws hope away in her haste .. to escape.. reality. Time is up.. Remember.. Remember she tried her best.. There was nothing left.. of her heart.. to give. Now she wonders.. If she had one more chance.. Would she choose to live.

Brilliant write Erica..OMG what a description! I am speechless..
Oh my goodness this is wonderfully written Erica! The message is priceless and ageless, but how to convey it is genius in it's own. It's a horrible thing to think that some people have to go through life not living it and never realise it until it is all too late. To live and never really live is to see beauty without really appreciating it. Your rhyme is unique and the topic is brilliant. Good writing!

Erica, this is a powerhouse of a little write! Reminds me of the song that Reba MacEntire did, "Is there life out there?" The thoughts that this write provoke are this... did she choose when her time was up? Although she tried her best, did she miss something in all her trying? Did she hold her hope to hidden and not share it, so others couldn't help?
Man, Erica, I could go on, this write has got me going this morning... thank you for sharing it.... stay strong....

Erica so touching, I hope she doesn't make things any worse for herself. Chose to at least break even. Nothing won, nothing lost. never pay another cost. At least no a check she wrote. Nice little expressive. Just felt like giving those words. hugs G
