This early dawn..no less
The hearth will be ready when you arrive from the
Fields.. go Henry, it is time a wasting with us
Marveling over these pumpkin delicasies
Festive dining for Thanksgiving Day
At the Antebellum Mansion of the Southern
Blue Ridge
Marvelous mahogany table embelished with ivory
Rose sprays needle point tapestry inlay chairs
Crystal chandeliers, candelabras dripping wax
Roses of orange yellow purple hues sparkling
Pheasant, fox hunters stoneware place settings
Crystal decanters goblets finest silver

LadyAngebellum gracefully glides down the spiral staircase
Royal blue silk gown adorned with white French lace
Train of Royal blue silk Lady in waiting gently places
Graceful charm emits in greeting guests
Courtsey to her father mother sisters brothers
Aunts uncles cousins friends, others arriving
Lady Antebellum winks..Miss Sarah whispers
there is aplenty
All are seated, Lady Antebellum's father offers prayer
We gather together to ask the Lord's blessings
For the bounty we are about to partake..Amen
Miss Sarah, Henry and the staff carry soup terrines
Platters and the finest turkeys Henry proudly harvested
Serving the guests was an honorable tradition
A courtesy from Miss Sarah Henry's gracious smile
Aft dining the ladies retired to the parlor for music
Harpsicord played by Lady Antebellum
Singing in her beautiful sorpano voice songs
Of Southern ambiance
All the men lingered in the library for a glass of port
Relaxing conversation, perhaps a cigar
The children all skipping to the spiral staircase
Lady Antebellum's doll house room was the grandest
Playing hours, they grew curious to what was on the
third floor
Twelve children quietly crept up the steps and opened
The door..to their amazement..Christmas Presents..
Stacked to the ceiling! Shhhh! keep it our secret!

Rhett said that, not I, Mary Ann, not I. Oh no, I was attending the spectacle of Lady Angebellum's rag time . . .er . . . sumptious Thanksgiving fest, even serving the fine guest. I stayed with the women and the beautiful music, why go to a room crowed with males when I can have the company of the royal-like ladies of the countryside, and who knows what the day may bring? . . . Beautiful poetry this . . .
Happy Thanksgiving!
