Poem Artwork

Dawn mist lingers, weightless
covering the Cambrian lakes
momentarily dragonflies hover
to a cacophony of bird song

Sunrays filter through leafy trees
merrily wild flowers salsa with the breeze
bee’s sweet talk the dancing flowers
a stream trickles downwards nourishing a lake

Contentedly she smiles as the
Cambrian erupts once more.

tripping along nicely with the first 8 lines... then I tripped up flat on my face with the final couplet. ???Que??? To me it was like an unforeseen storm emerging, and I was confused that "she" was "contented" about it. Maybe I'm not au fait with the various applications of "Cambrian"... hang on... deja vu... have I said all this before... have you posted this before??????!!! So is this Italian idyll or an emergent Miss Marple... still waters running deep and wotnot... ??? xx

Minus 41 (Celsius or Fahrenheit, take your pick) hardly put you in the mood for lakes, enchanted or not. And then, there's that blasted wind blowing from Siberia to make you run for a roaring fireplace and a bottle of Captain Morgan Dark Rum! cheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeers!!!...hic!
