Happy Birthday, my wee nice Ellie

Last time I wrote, it was when you were six.

Now you’re too old to lose at pooh sticks

Now age ten, I see you playing Rachmaninoff again and again
Though you still make a perfect daisy chain

A royal crown you wear in your hair
Watching the silly old honey bear
Three and in you’ll never win
Not when Uncle Andy is in

A princess so fair
On the trampoline
You fly through the air
Especially if I’m bouncing on there

Now you are ten
It’s not one digit but two
Every now and again
Say hi, to Winnie the Pooh

Or the Heffalumps
Will be looking for you
Should you walk
In one hundred acre wood

Roo, Pooh, Piglet and Tigger too
Want to say Happy birthday to
YOU!

I wrote something for my twin granddaughter , they just turned 12

Rachmaninoff, Pooh Sticks, coronets, daisy chains, trampolines AND Uncle Andy!! Sounds like the magic is only just beginning, now you've all ten fingers (and thumbs!) to play with! Happy Birthday, Ellie and humour your dear old Uncle by citing the names of all the stars and constellations you passed en route to orbiting the moon next time he bounces you off the tampoline - then get your own back by shipping in all the local Heffalumps to bounce him off to Mars!
