Leaving the public home
I realise that I am all alone
In front of me are thugs
I’m beaten and I’m mugged, as
They relieve me of my cash
I didn’t feel the knife, my head
Lands with a crash, that’s
Left me contorted, feeling distorted
Fighting for my life
Oh dear, oh dear what do
I tell my wife? I was meant
To buy a curry, she wanted
It in a hurry, everything looks
So blurry, the snow flurry is
Turning red
In a hospital bed, a tourniquet
Around my head, my wife thought
I was dead, so much is left unsaid
The bedpost doesn’t make
A good host, it’s telling me
That I’m toast, a conversation
Engrossed, I threaten to make
It a whipping post, as I become a ghost

I think it would be frightful
to be a ghost...not everyone can see them
I imagine it to be more lonely to be stuck there
oh look...you got me goin...
