I am not supposed to inject pain but this is the real situation of my country, Somalia. Please share.
Families and friends boarded the bus
A joyous trip started in the plains
Suddenly sad news hit the headlines
The bus was blown up into pieces
Angry militia planted land mines
Farah is a skillful automobile mechanic
He started work as the day touched him
Suddenly sad news hit the headlines
A six year old girl was bleeding
Farah’s daughter was raped.
Ali is a porter in the Bakaraha market
He toiled hard under the glowing sun
Suddenly sad news hit the headlines
Hospital suspended services over row
Ali’s pregnant wife died unnecessarily
Fartum is poor displaced women
She expected trucks to bring food Suddenly sad news hit the headlines
Fighting broke out between clans
Bullets, not food items, reached Fartum
A Word of Thanks
Like many of my other poems, this one describes what tragic moments
we are undergoing on daily basis. It is a summary of the "News" broadcast by local FM stations in Mogadishu over a week. The weight of misery is too heavy and sometimes you can not lift it unles you create poems as a form of relief and therapy. What we see here is a taste of horror and I thank my fellow poets at Authorsden for sharing the pain with me.

I can understand how desperate people must feel in areas where this is happening. It always seem to strike the most helpless. What a terrible journey life is, when each step is a journey into tragedy.

Abdi, all I can do is pray that mankind will learn to be human.
I am moved to tears not only because it is so sad but because I feel that I'm whistling in the wind. Stay strong.
Abdi, It's so tragic what is happening in this world today!
I'm sorry to hear of yet another tragedy, in your area! I still keep
you/family,and your country in prayer! We must keep our faith
ever active!

So sad...and so well expressed...Thanks for voicing your protest on this...
Why don't you come visit my page for Africa? I am soliciting poems about the genocide in Darfur, Western Sudan, but many of the poems have been about similiar things to what you allude here. The url is:
The whole thing is very sad. Africa is the last frontier of barbarism, it seems.

Abdi you are such a gentle person...I can see
that in your writing...you don't even attack people
but expose the truth...I admire you so much abdi..and
all I can say about this is that I am crying ....
and God also is crying....our world is in such
trouble....thanks for this poem...floria
We have a word for this anger, mad. And when some go crazy mad, we have a place for them. It's the prison for the criminally insane. For only insane anger could be so cruel.
I, like Regis, don't know how to respond except to say how terribly terribly sorry I am to hear such terrible and terrifying news. Truly hope better days come to your country soon, Abdi-Noor.
I do not know how to respond to this except to apologize that I am a human being and thus I must be part of the problem. I am sorry. Thank you for sharing this message, Abdi-Noor. I send you love and peace. Regis
AW, TERRIBLE! Will mankind ever learn? How fortunate are some! How unfortunate are most! Often I ponder these questions: Does man have the capacity to be satisfied ... and to live in peace with his neighbor? Is he destined to destroy all life and our planet? Thanks for sharing this Abdi-Noor. I pray for peace and love for humanity's sake!
A jaded cold case investigator finds himself trying to solve a thirty year old mystery when the skeletal remains of two missing teenagers are found in a national park.
Serial killer Ted Bundy's murders recounted from the perspective of thirty years after his execution in a Florida prison.
Brutal, compelling, with new updated facts about the case, his victims and the compulsions that drove Ted Bundy to mass murder.
