At gunpoint, a dictator came to power
But his authority soon started to rot
It crumbled over itself mysteriously
It went into the annals of history
But no love was lost between us
Chaotic as the situation had grown
conflict and strife reached peak
Some were displaced from settlements others crossed border for safe heaven
Tentacles of terror strangled Somalia
It became a safe heaven for the evil
It became a dumping site for N. wastes
It became a fertile ground for crime
Its resources have been shipped off
to far and unknow destinations
We have a vastland of good soils
hundreds of thousasnds of acres
But hardly can we feed ourselves
If they escape the day's bullet spray
children go to bed hungry every night
We have no gun factories in Somalia
Yet it is much cheaper than food itself
Every family is armed to the teeth
Hardly an hour passes without shooting
Death is a mere entertainment in here
International forces intervened in 1993 Hope had been restored temporarily
The shadows of misery got rolled back
But something wrong did take place
Mission suspended prematurely
By then we had only two warlords
Now they are infested in everywhere
Over 500 of them are ruling patchlands
They are devouring on us
like hungry lions
And the world is only watching,
not acting
What A Shame.

Chilling images of what happens when anarchy comes to stay. You are the voice of the people who sadly have to live in that carnage each day
A damn shame, Brother Abdi-Noor! I pray for your people and your nation every day; such a shame you have to live in fear day in and day out! May peace come to your land and all this hatred and violence against innocents stop! Oh, if it were only so....but until that day happens, I will keep you in prayer! And that is my solemn promise!
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend (and sister) in America, Karen Lynn in Texas. :( >tears <
How sad Abdi! My heart cries! I feel so helpless!
I'll increase my prayers, and hopes. Keeping you in
thought, hoping for a solution! God be with you and
your country! I hope others countries help soon!

New Poetry by Abdi-Noor Haji Mohamed (Eagle Of Hope)
In June, 2000, two college students — Amy Shute and Jason Burgeson — were approached by a group of men. Forced into the backseat and driven to a remote location, they were murdered in cold blood.
Following this brutal double homicide, Johnston, RI D
PI novel set in Manhattan during the 1980s when art galleries and model agencies were the two most glamorous businesses in the world. Dangerously well written.
