I recently attended a special course
Conflict Resolution was the subject
I garnered a great deal of knowledge
But unless I was able to practically
apply it, I thought I learned little
So I conducted an experiment on conflicts
I found the laboratory inside my house
I closely watched my son and his father
They both depend on me in many ways
I’m their servant and I serve them honestly
But in the night they become bitter rivals
I wake up in a raid of midnight invasion
Both of them need my service
But I can serve only one at a time
Each one wishes to have me alone
But I can’t be on one side without
accommodating the other.
As a way of avoiding conflict
I yield to their pressure
I serve both of them at one time
I put my son in charge of the upper region
while his father seizes the lower region
I draw a green line between the opponents
I watch them from my observation post
I am a Peace Keeper
