When you are in need of help you sometimes encounter something you never expected from people. Those you thought to be very close shall let you down. We learned that from experience during war years in Somalia. Just try to see people the way you see them now. Never take a step to look beyond. Otherwise What you will see may not be what you thought to be there. And the world is just like that. Poor Africa has profound knowledge of the feelings of the rich nations. To be rich in the context of today's world is to be evasive, arrogant, indifferent and watch the poor from golden windows.

What is people? I often asked myself
I tried to see them in body and mind
I wanted to know their inner functions
But people are just a bunch of persons
They wear masks to hide their traits
They are invisible with the naked eye
They hide themslves inside themselves
Only beggers can see them in full view
Ask Africa if you want to see Europe
It sees the rich through the eyes of poverty

I think you have hit on a universal truth. This is one reason that we should never allow ourselves to be dependent upon anyone for anything that is of great importance. Not an individual, not a government. We must learn to focus on ourselves, even when let down, with question such as, “why do I feel let down” and “what was my part in this let down.” These questions will help save us from pity party’s and also from judging others. There are times, when we never know why the other did what they did. Though there may be a valid reason for Africa to view Europe as the poor seeing the rich, doing so will not change Africa’s circumstances and will probably allow the negative circumstances to continue. As always, I enjoyed your work.

Abdi Noor this is a fine piece of work! It tells the true story of our worlds shallow view of life. Humanity has piled up a debt
that will bury those who seek only wealth and power, unfortunatly
we may not get the satisfaction of seeing it.

Abdi-Noor,

Excellent writing. It is a shame that some close their eyes and see only what they want to. Your poem reminds me of Billy Joel's song " Innocent Man " I love you poem and wisdom.

They hide themslves inside themselves

I fear this is very true in our often quite insane world today, Abdi-Noor.
