Three days ago a BBC journalist and producer, Kate Peyton was killed in Mogadishu by unknown gunmen. That killer has crashed our hearts, he has crashed our hopes. He just wanted to tell the world that Mogadishu was no place to accomodate the new government which was instituted in Nairobi late last year. There are those who say MogadisHu is ready for a government. There is peace, there is stability. There are those others who say we need troop intervention from the African Union before government is relocated to Mogadishu as no one can guarantee their security. I dedicated this poem to Kate Peyton who,in my hasty and rather superficial assessment, has gone in the hands of those who wanted to prove that Mogadishu was not safe. I stoppd posting poems at least for the time being but there are situations when pain is too painful to be ignored.
