Lack of adequate universities in the country led previous Somali governments to send students with exceptional abilities abroad. Some went to Western nations while others were enrolled in socialist institutions of Russia and Eastern bloc countries. Upon return to home a row began between them due to the different vision they are are holding. This has created misunderstanding between the two factions.

When the war broke out people have again become divided by tribe and clan politics. They forgot to protect what they belonged in common. They destroyed all facilities including hospitals and schools and any other structure that was originally known to be a government property.

In the old government days
We had two strange Officers
One was trained in the US
The other in the Ex-Soviet
One supported capitalism
The other loved Socialism
In the philosophy of development
They had different vision
They had different outlook
They pulled the nation apart

In the present day of chaos
We have two strange neighbors
One belongs to this X-clan
The other is from that Y-clan
They share little in common
They rarely talk each other
They rarely help each other

Their zone is laden with dirt
No one bothers to clean it
The water pipes are broken
No one bothers to fix them
They attend tribal meetings
But never come together to meet
Common property thus neglected
Individualism is on the rise
Devil is pulling them apart
They speak of nationhood
When they killed neighborhood
A cart never comes before the horse
