We have seen Katrina. we have seen Rita
We have seen many other Hurricanes
We shall see more natural disasters
They all have tested us in many ways
Our technology has been assessed
It failed to give adequate response
Our patience has been tested, too
We couldn't stand the agony it brought
And this is not going to be the end
Mother Nature may have more plans of attack
Will the victim be America alone
While the world sit back and watch
Or would there be joint response in the name of mankind?
Will the technology be improved
or we still face the same fate?

I agree with Ch'erie, Abdi, doubt is we can plan for the next disaster, but we can plan for the next life. Excellent write, Abdi! With a very profound message.
Excellent write and hopes! However,the world as one only when we copy heavens ways Abdi Noor! It sounds so fine, but this planet earth is on its way towards oblivion and as Ch'erie says our hope is in the One who created it, and it is to Creator that we must look with hope and trust, for whatever He chooses. Humanity in the majority, has failed to live according to his plan so it is doomed to fail.
I don't know if we can plan for the next disaster, but we can plan for the next life.
One of the biggest threats to mankind besides the obvious now, is this impending pandemic, a mutation of Avian bird flu and human flu, which if not curtailed, could claim between 1-150 million globally. Now that is a monumentous pestilence.
Whatever happens, I believe remaining true to the Lord is our salvation and hope.
Nothing else even comes anywhere near comforting us now.
You have the right idea my friend. I find it funny, strange and heart-warming how countries really open themselves to each other in time of need. Wouldn't it be wonderful if that type of peace were to always exist in the world? Without the disasters, of course.
In recent years, there seems to be natural disasters every year. It was either earthquakes or hurricanes.
The world is changing fast. I have not seen so many hurricanes in one year for as long as I lived upto now. Perhaps global warming has contributed to this. The world is changing.
