The people in the Horn of Africa mostly use The "Khat" leaves just for the fun of chewing these evil leaves. But these leaves often lead to trouble.
Its name is Miraa
It ia a narcotic leaf
In Somali it is called "Khat"
It is grown in the highlands
It is a mood-altering substance
People in the Horn enjoy chewing it
It is a stimulant. It makes one high
Consumers develop addiction
It badly affects sexuality
Under its influence
You either become over active
Or become too slow to indulge in sex
It creates sleep disorder
It represses hunger, kills the appetite
Doctors warn against its use.
Somali Youth, beware of this evil leaf.
Abdi Noor, the problem is, anything that sounds like it can make you high the youth will try. So will many adults. Prople always look for ways to escape reality, and mood altering drugs are a way of doing it. they never think of the bad repercussions until it is too late.
If they can get it free that would be even more of an enticement. I hope for the best...
