I wrote books, I wrote articles I made films to reach a wider audience but sometimes I find a poem is easier to pass a message than to write a whole book. This is my personal perspective
Arts is the mother of all humanities Secrets are exposed in books and articles Events are highlighted in the daily news Visions are set in moving pictures Paintings speak of truth in volumes Arts is the mother of all humanities Poetry fits to be her wonderful heart Poetry is a way-out to air grievances It is a way to let the steam escape rapidly It is a vehicle to transport messages Where else in the field of arts Can pain and joy be shared in few lines? Ah I love Poetry. �

Perfectly penned, Abdi-Noor and you are so correct. My true passion is writing short stories, though I rarely have time to do so; but poetry takes a few words and creates the mood of the piece and leaves the subjective conclusion to the reader. Therefore, a single piece of poetry can fit into the lives of many. I too, love poetry!
