They fight today. Someone shall reconcile them. They again start a new fight tomorrow. People lost faith with these warlords. They know they couldn't stand by their commitments if they agree to implement peace initiatives. Mogadishu is in war for the second day. We are receiving rockets in almost everywhere including houses, restaurants, streets and even in the buses of the public transport. This the second time inside few weeks. Some parts of Mogadishu is now burning like a hell. Is the world not caring anymore? We have a government instituted last year in Kenya but it is in war with itself. They are divided along clan and tribal lines. It can't protect its civilians. It seems the government needs more protection than the people it was supposed to protect. That is where we live as a country.
Brothers
They were brothers of blood
They were brothers of identity
But brothers had turned to rivals
One picked a fight with the other
Over power and money they contested
Nobody won the worthless battle
Zero sum was the outcome of the war
They wasted souls destroyed buildings
On negotiation table they were brought
Brothers reconciled to be brothers again
They signed agreements and protocols
But soon as the ink dried up
They started shooting again
People are dying like mosquitoes
Will warlords ever pay respect to human life?
Will the world ever care Somalia and its people?

I am frightened for you and your people, Abdi-Noor. The only way that this world will ever become healed and whole will be when we, the people, stop separating ourselves by tribes, countries, heritage, religion and philosophy. We are responsible for a big part of it ourselves and our leaders promote it. Divide and conquer...it is an old story that has been working for centuries and we, like pawns wishing to clarify our uniqueness, play right into their hands. "If we do not acknowledge that we are part of the problem, it is certain that we will never be part of the solution."
