Returning from a long break I resume writing. I spent nearly two months in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia looking for a possibility to relocate myself and family somewhere in the free world but while on the look out war broke out in Mogadishu and I lost contact with my family whom I left back home, not knowing what happened to them for three days before I reconnected with them through friends who traced their whereabouts. Now I am on my way back to Somalia (I fly tomorrow) to join my family and to take them out from the line of fire. Over the two months i have been away from my family I made mistakes which I have to admit but I learned lessons which shall remain with me as part of a hard earned experience to correct myself in the future. Happy to be back and re-unite with you again. I wish to thank here sister Safi Abdi who posted the poem "The Ruined House of Somalia" shortly after receiving a letter from me. I also thank all the poets who reviewed that poem and who sent their prayers to me. Thanks

I was thinking of you when I heard that the fighting was out of control, then when I didn't see a post from you I became concerned. There is nothing like being separated from your family and not knowing if you will ever be able to find them again or even if they are still alive to remind you how much they mean to you and how empty and sad life would be without them. I am so glad that you and your family are safe and that you will be together. Welcome back, Abdi-Noor. I have missed your wisdom.
