Without proper upbringing of children a nation can not expect a bright future
16 June is the Day of the African Child
As Africans what do we show the world?
We have millions suffering from disease
Many millions more are dying from hunger
Child labor is rampant in all workplaces
They have no access to clean water and health
Only those from well off families go to school
They are the most precious asset we have
Yet they are the most abused creatures
They are victims of widespread neglect
Their rights are remembered on 16 June
Agencies release funds for the occasion
child matters get extensive media coverage
So called Child activists make speeches
Parties are held everywhere in the city
When the last bite of the cake is gone
The room will become as silent as a graveyard
No group will remain behind to draw up a plan
Everyone rushes to finish the day's work
But without tomorrow today has no meaning
Without children a nation has no future
They are flowers in the garden of life
They are fruits of love in the tree of peace
IS IT ANY WONDER THAT MANY GROW UP TO BECOME TOMORROWS MURDERERS AND WARLORDS OR WORSE. SO ANY OF OUR WORLD LEADERS SUPPORT CHILDREN IN NAME ONLY....SHAME. PEACE LOVE,PRAYERS AND BLESSINGS ARE SENT TO YOU AND YOURS BROTHER ABDI-NOOR. <mikii>
