As you sail in sea of peace
You see huge rocks of war
You can't see or touch one
Unless you feel the other
When they are in war
People cry for peace
When they get peace
They invite war
They can't stay with peace
Yet can't stay without peace
Some people are enemies of peace
They can't see the light of peace
Until they taste the horrors of war

The oxymoron of Man... We are just so darn stupid..
Being motivated by greed and jelousy, that the bully boys always seem to want more and more and more and more and.........
Yes, yes ... to know love, it seems we need to experience its opposite. Sadly, for then we'd see the light of peace instead of needing to taste the horrors of "war". Powerful write Abdi-Noor; relevant to the levels of war.

WAR AND PEACE illustrates well one of the more painful paradoxes of human existence. At some point we will have to get tired enough of the one--WAR--to cultivate and live harmoniously in the other--PEACE. Thank you for a great and thought-provoking poem--

True, people are never satisfied, always grasping for something out of reach. St Augustin said, "my heart is retless until it rest in you" some will not be at peace until they are in the arms of Jesus.
this applies even to interpersonal relationships. I'm dealing with an ex-husband right now who has to stir up trouble...God forbid that things go along smoothly! And his behaviors leave me struggling to maintain peace within myself. Your poetry is universal, Abdi. Keep on keeping on!
GLIMPSE OF AN ANGEL IS NOW AVAILABLE. A PORTION OF ALL SALES WILL GO TO HOSPICE TO THUS ENABLE THEM TO HELP OTHERS WHO ARE SOON TO PASS TO THE OTHER SIDE. NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

You will cry for peace
When you are in peace
You just invite war
Seems like we humans just never learn, do we?
