A meeting is being held in Khartoum, Sudan to reconcile the warring Somali factions: one group represents the Transitional Government while the other stands for the islamist who recently took control of Mogadishu and other parts of the Country. In the Somali political stage we have The Americans, We have the Europeans, we have the African Union, We have regional institution called IGAG, we have the Arab League, We have the Organization of the Islamic conference and many more. I an only say: Too many cooks spoil the soup.
I am an African Spinster
I live in the Horn
My name is Somalia
Many do admire my beauty
But instead of giving me flowers
They send me bullets and bombs
I know America loves
Europe is flirting with me
Both are ready with a big dowry
A marriage is being arranged soon
But there is a conflict over the issue
African Union says Somalia is a sister
Arab League believes I am her daughter
Each one is claiming to be a stakeholder
A long-hidden identity crisis has emerged
Their difference had split me into two
On one side of the forged political coin
I have a government supporting African Union
While on the other I have the opposite
Islamists are defending Arab interests
In Khartoum the two factions are meeting
They are boxing in the shadow of others
They continue sucking me in dark holes
Till the victor rejoices over my dead body
This is definitely not a pretty picture you paint of a woman /Somalia being torn into from all sides. I wonder can she survive this love? Peace, blessings and love are sent to you and yours. <Mikii>
These are very difficult times for Somalia and her fate hangs in the balance. Her people are not what is being considered, it is the physical placement of Somalia into someone's cache. I wish that Somalia was strong enough to become her own country and not be forced to be part of any other faction, community, union or country.
Take care,
Sherry

Sad, especially the ending you gave us, because it is true that things can come right only when the country is ruined. That is the modern world where egoism reigns supreme. Victor
