A Somali meeting in Khartoum, Sudan, is hampered by conditions set forth by the two negotiating sides: the Islamic Courts on one hand and the Transitional Federal Government on the other. This deadlock will further aggravate the deteriorating situation of Somalia. We call upon them to look into the interests of the nation and not waste time on unnecessary conditions which only create or prolong the Somali crisis. It is the third time now that these two factions are meeting in Khartoum within a period f five months and without any tangible progress as to how war is stopped and development initiatives started. I think they should know how much money they had spent on these fruitless meetings which if properly used could have sent many children to school or could have saved mothers from bleeding to death.
Our children are hungry
They are starving and famished
They don't have a proper shelter
Few of them receive education
Many of them die in infancy
We have the highest child mortality
Is Political stalemate a solution?
Our women live in pain
War had left an ache in their soul
They suffer from acute depletion
Few of them receive medical care
Many of them die during delivery
We have the highest maternal mortality
Is Political deadlock a solution?
Somalia is sinking into chaos
It is slipping back to anarchy
Foreigners are sending troops
They want us to fight their war
A proxy war is quite imminent
Instead of allowing it to recover
We are killing our beloved nation
We are among the poorest in the world
Is political impasse a solution?
Very harsh reality of poverty and war!Yes,Abdi there is a solution and end to all these sufferings.For that I believe we need to carry on our awareness and positive actions to the wider level.Your poems speaks out about these problems in such a powerful way.

Those who yearn for power cannot understand what Our Lord Jesus said: If you want to be number one, you must serve all the others. No these people want to serve themselves. It's a no-no situation. I pity the women and children who suffer most. Victor

Powerful my eyes full of tears with this poem the children are so hurt by this.... I am having my Interessor prayer Warriors praying about the needed releif and for intervention to stop this pain.... I do not beleive the last line no political is always putting two sides or more this goverment parties in charge they eat sleep well so they can afford the waiting they put on the people but the people can not... Thank you for your faithfulness to your Country....
