Feelings of an internally-displaced person in one of the camps set up in Mogadishu after he ran away from the civil wars that has erupted in his original location, osing all his property to militia men.

The sea is sending fish
But only winds are reaching us

The bee is sending honey
But only stings are reaching us

The trees are producing fruits
But only bombs are reaching us

The moon is sending light
But only shadows are reaching us

The clouds are sending rain water
But only moisture is reaching us

Donors are sending food stuff
But only bullets are reaching us

These couplets serve to expose the futility of war and yet the great harm that it does. Thank you, my friend. Love and peace to you,

Regis

You bring the horrors of war vividly to life; excellently penned heartbreak, my (((Brother))). May you and your family find the peace you so desperately seek.

(((HUGS))), love and continued prayer, your sister, Karla.

Sad but true circumstances surround war. Prayer is urgent for our country as well as others involved, after all we all live on earth, and are all human beings. God bless us all!

I agree with Victor below--well said--these are the spoils of war--thanks to inform us--our hands are tied--what is sent to you is only enabling the enemy--however, there is one thing we can do--prayer is the answer--it may take a while but it is always answered. Do not give up hope--this is a real test given by God to test your faith and youir strength. Pray as tho it depends on God and work as tho it depends on you. Find peace in your heart altho there is no peace in your world. It can and does happen thru prayer. May you find that peace which only God can give. Marguerite

these couplets are aching with Somalia's pain, Abdi-Noor. It is as though they offer a plea without coming out and stating it. The heart of the displaced is begging us to listen.
