Almost everyday a journalist, writer, a poet or someone who expresses his/her ideas freely, is harassed somewhere in the world and there is little we can do to protect the voices of freedom. If freedom of expression is suppressed by people in power the world will go back to old days of monarchy and dictatorship when the darkness of ignorance was considered as being the light of education. Something must be done to enhance the freedom of expression across the world.
There are those
Who play foul
But wish to bury
Their incompetence
In the sands
Of dirty tricks
They are the politicians
There are those
Who dig ineptness
With their mighty pens
To expose the remains
of ineffectuality
They are the free media
Between the two entities
There is always a clash
In which one rots in jail
While the other plays more foul
Can anybody protect journalists?
Not with papers from offices alone
But also with action of great merit
Journalists and authors should be protected if their work is to help spread wisdom and create and understanding in the society. However, as Ukhti Safi pointed out, there are journalists whose reports are biased, and many of them are like this. Journalists are very useful and at the same time very dangerous to society.

'At the start of the war in March of 2003, as many as 775 reporters and photographers were traveling as embedded journalists. [1] These reporters signed contracts with the military that limited what they were allowed to report on. [2] When asked why the military decided to embed journalists with the troops, Lt. Col. Rick Long of the U.S. Marine Corps replied, "Frankly, our job is to win the war. Part of that is information warfare. So we are going to attempt to dominate the information environment."[3]'
