The war in Somalia should stop. This is a response to a message I received from a Somali reader who thought that I went to far to hit the insurgents when I posted an article at a most cherished website of Hiiraan.com under the title " Murdering children to please Allah" At the den I posted it earlier as a poem.

I don't really care who fights who
But I do care who dies in the war
Especially the women and children
Who perish in the war like flies
Who are slammed with mortar bombs
Or pounded ruthlessly with rockets
By inhumane warlords and insurgents
Who believe in war and not in peace

In writing stories about the war
I view things from an aspect of humanity
And not from a perspective of tribal politics
I Never get embroiled in fathomless fables
Orchestrated by notorious warlords
Who were thrown in the dustpan of history
But picked once again by their paymasters
Who wish to recycle them like a refuse
With the aim of giving them a new lease
To terrorize and harass the Somali people

We have fallen in the jaws of bitter cruelty
Whereby we are caught up in a raging fire
Fanned on one side by the Somali government
And extremists of Islamic insurgents on the other
