Which way your economic balance shifts depends on the resources you have and the type of regime ruling your nation. Is it a dictatorship type of government or democratic one? That makes a difference but in Somalia we have a government of war which fits nowhere in the established framework of international norms and systems of government.
Is wealth a curse?
We have large oil reserves
We have mineral deposits
We have marine resources
We are blessed with rivers
The soil is fertile and rich
Livestock is quite abundant
Yet we are counted as poor
Unable to feed themselves
Plunged in chaos and strife
Squandering money in war
Always crying out for help
Is wealth a curse?
No. Never a wealth is a curse
It is an endowment, a gift from God
A blessing if managed wisely enough
Otherwise turns out to be a catastrophe
Building up factories with bricks of Greed
Manufacture a virus called “CORRUPTION”
Causing a serious disease called “POVERTY”
Transmitted through channels of FRADULUENCE
And spread by way of DECEITFULLNESS
Shifting power onto the shoulders of GLUTTONEY
To allow DESPONDENCY lead the ailing nation

It is when it is hoarded by those unwilling to share their blessings with the poor; it is when it changes people into greedy monsters; it is when a nation suffers because of a "lucky" few....thought provoking excellence, my friend.
Abdi, your brain has been working over-time with some thought provolking stuff. I think if you have to much of something everybody wants your in the hot-seat no matter the politics.
When in Sudan oil was found in prospects and claims were made by Chinese, French, Norwegian, British and American oil companies it was obvious there was going to be a war in that area. Half a year later hell broke loose there. The wealthy who instigate and finance the wars after which they plunder the region, are indeed cursed spirits. They may go unpunished in this realm, because they made the laws, but their fate will be beyond horrifying after this plane is done. Thank you for creating and sharing. Take care,
