A writer, poet and a filmmaker has been invited to attend a Somali studies conference in Ohio but he was refused to get a visit to enter the US. With all his background as a teacher and peace activist still America can not trust Abdi-Noor Mohamed who lives in war-torn Somalia and managed to publish two books in America through Authorhouse publishing company in, Bloomington, Indiana. My intention was not to stay and live in Amereica but to come and present a paper on human rights situation in Somalia and other topics of cultural interest. N.B. With an invitation from the SSIA committee
I developed a wish to visit the United States
But through the conduit of my desires
Bubbles of uncertainty began escaping
Dreams have turned out to be illusions
Like an ebbing tide of discontentment
They receded to the shores of displeasure

But despite all these unpleasant fall-offs
My dazzling spirits shall remain unbent
Never getting swayed despite odd tests
My hopes keep soaring with wings of joy
And cross over mountains of enchantment
Till they reach blissful heights of eternity
