As I am now visiting Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, I admired and befriended with a tree in the city center which seemed to have welcomed me with a beautiful smile when I paid my first sight-seeing visit to the city center.
Right in the heart of the city
I made a mighty green friend
It is the tree of love and hope
It is the tree of life and joy
Under its shade I seldom retreat
In the middle of the road
It stands with a distinct style
Showing its majestic elegance
As the sun filters through its leaves
Today is a merry day for my friend
It is one of its flower-showing days
It is the time of the year it blossoms
Let’s share the bliss with my friend
Let’s join it in the celebrations
