Scientists and politicians in the Island of Bali, Indonesia, are setting up deadlines for a landmark treaty in an effort to fight global warming but a long tern solution can not be achieved unless awareness against environmental hazards starts at community level. Each community of every nation should be mobilized to reduce its contribution to global warming by changing its behaviour in their day to day lives. It is advisable and a much needed initiative to include studies on preservation of environment in the school curriculum of every nation and state.

Driving 10 cars
Rushing to work
Spoiling the air
With ten times
More Carbon dioxide
Than they would have injected
Had they shared a mini bus
They are the world's richest
Who lead much affluent lives
Enjoying the luxury of wealth
But staying inconsiderate
To world's climate changes
Never paying attenton
To global warming
Wealth is a blessing
But it can be a curse
If used improperly
Community education
Can serve best
As an instrument of change

You make me see "rush hour" traffic as individuals go to and from their places of employment, many millions of individuals, each in his own individual automobile, and the atmosphere becomes brown, and not one of them thinks of global warming. Would it shock them to know that the arctic ice-cap, that great moderator of weather, is now (on average) only three feet thick and melting fast. Would they care? You are quite correct -- teaching environmental conservation needs to start with the children in schools while we still have time. Do we still have time?
Safety allows us to think about the real problems plauging the whole world.

If people practised the principles of simple living, I am sure global warming would have been much slower. Collective responsibility is what is needed to combat this looming threat. This should start from bottom down as you have suggested my brother.
