I repost this poem as most of my trackers have not been notified due to a lack of rating and that has created a mishap in my Den´s track system. Thanks

I was at the brink of desperation before Sandared Library offered me a chance to put my seemingly deralied literary train back to the railway of light and knowledge.

I dedicate the following poem to the Library of Sandared in Sweden where I spend most of my free hours to read and surf the internet free of charge.

I am a Somali ayslum seeker, a writer journalist and filmmaker, who is currently staying at a camp in Hultafors. I enjoy a 40-minute muscle-flexing-walk every morning to take advantage of this invaluable service which I lakced over the past 18 years due to war and strife in my home country ---- Somalia.

While expressing my heartfelt gratitude to the mangement of the library and the entire school leadership , I wish to particularly mention, Sofia, Sara, Marlena and Sirkka for their continous support and official assistance to customers in their effort to provide them a comfortable environment to study, lend and refer books as they please.

Thanks

Books are my friends
They are my companions
They rush to my rescue
When loneliness touches
Denying me to lean
Like an old tower
Gazing upon the ocean
Into which it will sink

Books are my friends
They are my companions
They come to my defence
When boredom strikes
Denying me to crumble
Like a cracked wall
Falling over itself
Books are my friends
They are my companions
They hold me high
When spirits plummet
Denying me to tumble
Like a marble statue
Of a fallen dictator
Peering upon the defeat
Into which it will wade

Books are my friends
They are my companions
They link me up to the world
Reuiniting me with myself
Like a thread and its beads
I love books beyond measure
I lacked them back home
But they are plenty in here
God Bless Sandared library

Hello there Abdi, alone in an island, a book would be the only one that will not have a headache as you take it to bed.
Boks are friends, lovers, company, that only want from you to be read.

Dear Abdi-Noor and Si El Haj. We are never alone. I know what it means to be a refugee in a foreign country and no matter how sweet they are to you it can never replace a home land. Nevertheless, keep courage and especially the faith. As you probably know human beings have a silent and invisible thread which goes into action when we pray for it. The writer of this message knows the feeling very well and knows that miraculously help is always there. Good luck and be safe. God Bless You, Emile

Abdi-Noor,

It's so good to see you, my (((brother))), I have been worried about you! Please know you, your family, your people, your Nation are in my prayers. Books don't talk back - they listen - they take us away to better places, as do these words of gratitude. Well done.

(((((HUGS))))) and love, Karla.

Very glad you re-posted this, my friend, and it's a wonderful tribute to that library, and to books - of all kinds. Books truly made our world a much better place for many over the ages, and very sadly these days, reading books seems to be another thing that is vanishing far too quickly in our modern day world.
