Elisabeth Tingdal is a Swedish lady with a heart laden with love and compassion. She has a dog called Cosby which is treated just like a family member or even sometimes much better than that. Cosby has been so nice to me when I first visited Elisabeth at her house in November last year. At least he did not bark to make me feel unwelcome. He was rather happy and jovial, showing acceptance to me. I dedicate this poem to Cosby. Although he is an animal Cosby knows how to show respect to people.
Cosby
When I looked at your face
I saw pleasure fitting in
You started wagging your tail
Your eyes had a flame of joy
They sparked a glint of hope
You have warmly welcomed me
Thank you Cosby
A happy dog you are Cosby
In a happy house you live
And in caring hands you are
If I cmopare you with Somali dogs
Those that I had left back home
I see a gap wide open in between
You eat to your fill everyday
But they hardly get a meal
They scavenge in the rubbish
You have your own bed to sleep Cosby
But they spend the night in the cold
They are strayed, abandoned souls
I know how it feels to be so lucky Cosby
But I don´t know how you feel
To be a dog living like a human being
If a dog is truly loved Like Cosby sounds they are most lucky...I feel bad for any and all strays, never knowing the love they could have, nor being able to give their love to others...ed & Rufuz (w00f)
