What Can We Tell to This Child?

Sometimes women are shot dead in a cross fire while waiting for food donations. Adults understand what has happened but how do we explain this to the children? Unless culprits are brought to justice, there will be no peace in war torn countires such as Somalia.

Poem Artwork

Through a dilapidated shack
A child stares in the open
Feeling an air of starvation
Steering in his empty stomach
waiting for his mom to return
But Mom never returned home
She was shot dead while in cue
Her child still waiting with suspense
Wondering why she was not back soon
Wishing to see her bringing food
But never has his wish materialized
He kept peeping through the sticks
Looking ino an ever expanding horizon
Wih an undiminishing hope of seeing Mom
What can we tell to that child?
He understands his mom and food
And both are not in sight at the moment
what can we tell to this child?

Only in a gentle land full of gentle people that could occurred as the malice of man takes hold and pushes the good away.
It is always the children that pay the price.

All we could tell the child falls helplessly short. Man's inhumanity to his fellow man. Since Cain and Abel the story repeats ad infinitum. Always, the little children are the biggest losers. To end, every man and woman of every oppressed land, must be willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. For freedom is the ultimate end to strife across the earth.

So difficult that such things as this still continue and ther does not seem to be any hope of it ending either because not enough care, so disheartening that so many are left to struggle and suffer....

Be always safe,
Karen

You have brought the severity of the situation about this child to my eyes... not only through your poem, but through this sad picture. The lost look of a child who will be devastated for life. Gut-wrenching write. Holly

Just pray for this child, hope that someone will rescue him from his or her fate! God bless the little ones!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend/sister in America, Kaern Lynn in Texas. :( >tears! <

If I could, I'd adopt this little one!

Don't have to tell him anything, he sees reality unfolding before his terrified realization that Mama isn't coming back. Heartbreaking! Makes me wish I could adopt that precious little soul and let him know that not all mankind is bad. :(

(((HUGS))), love and prayer, Karla. :(
