From 2:AM on 22 September until now mortar bombs are landing on Mogadishu (Somalia)residential areas as hard wing islamic rebels implicated to have links with Alqaeda are exchanging rockets with African peacekeepers inside the city. None of the two warring parties is dying. Only unarmed civilians are losing their lives. In one explosion, a family of 8 people sleeping peacefully in their house have been killed. What have they done wrong? There is blood running everywhere in the streets as people are burning inside this man-made hell. Those who escape the bombs shall not escape death in another form, perhaps a more torturous way of dying -- starvation -- as humanitarian aid is being blocked by gunmen who loot the supplies or kill the aid workers thus making it impossible to reach the people by land.
By air it is impossible either as the insurgents vowed that they will shoot down any plane that lands Mogadishu airport.
Sea voyage is so perilous as ships carrying food aid are hijacked by pirates who use speedboats. What is going on is Somalia is a real catastrophe and I do not know why the world is not waking up to this disaster of genocide proportions.
Somalia is left in the hands of Ethiopian invaders along with a government that serves the best interests of the enemy and terrorists who hide behind Islamic religion.

You etch your visions into the souls of all who read your words, Abdi-Noor. I say prayers each day for the safety of you and your family. Being here in USA is a lot like living at Disneyland. We are locked in Fantasyland, fed milk and honey and we pretend that all that is evil and unfair in the world, is a reality that should not be allowed to darken our sunny days. We have learned to hear what we want to hear and have each come to the realization that one person cannot change the world. The guilt associated with the contrast of your world and the one we reside in, is huge. It is much like seeing a child who bears the scars of severe burns on his entire body; we turn our eyes away as we cannot bear to see and know the pain this innocent human being must be suffering. So it is with the war-torn countries of the world and the suffering of the masses there. None of us knows where to start to make the necessary changes. None of us knows the whole story that has led to the situation at hand. None of us knows how to fix what is broken. None of us knows how to wipe the tears from our eyes for the feeling of embarrassed futility that consumes us when we think of the genocide that plagues our world. Our tears are worthless; there must be action. Where do we turn to start making a difference? No politician here, no matter their party, is going to take steps to cause the needed changes. I pray for strength and insight in the hopes that, one day, all the tortured souls will find the golden road that will lead them to freedom and plenty. I pray that they will band together and begin to help themselves so that we can learn how to assist them in their efforts to take back their country. For now, it seems that all I can do is pray.

Bless you, Abdi-Noor! Your "Mirrors of Terror" message poem burns in my heart and mind -- thus, bringing me to tears! Could Hell be worst than this evil happening to all those innocent people? I think, not much! my prayers are with you and your country.
Like Lawrwncw of Arabia said, go forward against the extremists islamites and "no prisoners" if they wanted to be martirs let them be it, don't put them in cages so other dead brained can act with atrocity trying to liberate them.
But until the millions of Islam good believers don't rebel agains the few thousands that make a mockery of Islam, that religion will have the face of the Devil to the rest of us and to their dying own.

Abdi Noor, I cry for such terror and injustice being done,and pray for you,your family and country! What can be done? You write of barriers with such frustration,and I feel the anguish,but I don't know what we can do. I will copy this and send it to our local press!
Please do whatever you can and start with the press and your congressman. If you can add some poetry, so much the better. A whole nation in flames and we need to put off this fire with the power of our voice regardless of who we are and what religion we believe in. We must be united by the spirit of humanity and become one in the face of horror and injustice, such as this one. Somalis is a nation abandoned by the world , left in the hands of Ethiopian invadors, A surrogate government that serves the interests of the enemy and terrorists who hide behind Islam. This year alone 9200 civilians including children and pregnant women have been killed in Mogadishu while 3.2 million have been displaced. Please my friends this is a time I so desperately need your support. Please AD friends do something and spread the word. I´m sure it will help.
