The main identity problem we have in this world is not the skin color but it is the mental color. Extremists are everywhere in the world. They hide behind religion be it Moslem or Christian or Jews or otherwise. Some of them pose themselves as moderates but they are more dangerous than the extremists. Apart from that there is press extremism who already have begun questioning Obama´s religion and moral beliefs, checking with him continously over his position on abortion and something of the sort.

Extremists are hard to reform or change. Hard to accept compromise through dialogue

Now take a look at those extremists who wear the press badge down their hips. They have been shaping up the mind of the people by orienting them along ethnic lines of thought. They still wear the straight jacket of marking people by their identity such as calling Obama the first black president while they never called his predecessors as the white presidents.

I support diversity at community level when people are proud of their culture and tradition but when it comes to people holding higher state institutions or executive posts such as president, I think color or religion have place to fit in such a setting.

The incumbent must be judged by how loyal he or she is to the constitution. Obama´s acendacy to power is a great opportunity to make a global change and I´m happy that he did not come to power anywhere outside the American political system but born out just from within.

This gives America a better credibility than ever before as it proved to have a dynamic state machinery that provides a space for every America who wishes to vie for presidency. If this space did not exist, it would have forced many Americans to create movements which might have turned America to a mountain of anger awaiting exploding. Without democracy this would not have been possible and that is why I support democracy and I don´t believe in American democracy or western democracy or eastern democracy or African democracy, or moslem democracy or... I believe in democracy as it is and not the hyphenated one or otherwise implicated to certain groups or identified with certain cultures.

I believe the democracy that gives power to the majority but still protects the rights of the minority and this majority-minority balance is not based on numerical superiority in terms of race or religion but in terms of progressive ideology, thoughts and ideas which are represented by patriotic personalities belonging to political parties who are ready to contest for leadership and ready to agree with the election results and promise to work with the winner unconditionally (not on condition of getting major posts in the new government) Now let me elaborate more the way I see democracy in this poem (a repost. Every two years I check myself in this poem to find out if my values and perception about democracy still hold or if I need to ammend my previous position. It is like a medical check up I undergo every two years. Four years after writing this poem I see no cracks anywhere in my dreams that need some repairs. Next check up will take place after two years (God willing) By then Obams will be undergoing a mid-term crisis (God unwilling)

Democracy is people's will and desire
It has a structure of pyramidal shape
The base is where it is most tough
Those at the apex make decisions
Based on demands from the bottom

Democracy is people's will and desire

The grassroots are the power of a nation
You can't ignore their role and strength
You can send technology abroad anytime
But you can't export democracy
You can install an authority by force
But you can't make democracy work by force
