I have been closely observing how people who in the past fought tribal and religious wars in their own countries can start living together in a new land.
With restricted immigration laws though
Asylum seekers still arrive in Sweden
Making it a multicultural nation
Hosting people of different origins
Hailing from different nations
Believing in different religions
Or believing in the same religion
But with different interpretations
As some adhere to traditional sects
While others follow strict-type Islam
But upon making safely to Sweden
Start living in peace with themselves
Forgetting their past conflicts
Iraqi Shiites going well with Sunnis
Praying together in the same mosque
Bombing not each other in shrines
Somalis no longer hunting each other
Not killing or kidnapping hostile clans
I wonder why we could not do this at home
While we impressively can do it in Sweden
Justice is what changes people´s behaviour
Making them responsible of their actions
Not allowing them to hide behind tribe or religion
Justice can no doubt make a real difference
Oh may it shine in those nations that lack it
accountability and "the rule of law" are two of the foremost prerequisites -- "the rule of law" in this case, quite simply means, no one in the nation, is above the laws of the land -- the president and the pauper are on the same level regarding obeying the laws -- without "the rule of law", the wealthy and powerful always escape justice - may joy fill your heart, peace guide your thoughts and love light your way -- JMW
Abdi, you have taken a situation, and have looked at it from the outside...putting just a bit of distance between you and the situation...and in doing that, you are able to see what needs to be done...what works and what doesn't. I think the problem is, sometimes, that people are too close to a situation and aren't able to "see" things for how they truly are. You have a beautiful heart. If only there were more like you.
What a wonderful world this would be if every nation took Sweden's lead. Fantastic and uplifting write Abdi-Noor, Fantasic indeed. Love and hugs, Bonnie
New Poetry by Abdi-Noor Haji Mohamed (Eagle Of Hope)
In a post-coup America, an Illinois farm boy is drawn into the resistance by his brother's death. Captured, he is given a choice: betray his friends, or the girl he loves will be lobotomized.
A homonymless man writes shows what it's like to look up the laid he skirts when you’re lying prone(d) to the sidewalk, beer / joint / needle dangling from your hand /lips / arm.

Now if the rest of the world could follow Sweden's lead
