The World Food Programme has taken a decision to close 12 feeding centers in Somalia on grounds of funding shortages. This means thousands of children will not eat anymore despite spending millions of dollars each day in fighting and killing innocent populations. How can we justify this? Is it fair to let warlords to be armed to the teeth with weapons worth of millions of dollars while children are starving and dying from hunger due to lack of funds? Is it fair that extremists keep bombing the city with mortars while children are perishing in their hundreds as a result of disease and malnutrition? It seems that we are part of the globe but not part of the world. In an attack to alqaeda suspected hideouts in Southern Somalia yesterday a high value terrorist of kenyan origin has been killed. That was a commendable job accomplished by the Americans and we are so grateful to them for silencing the notorious and rather disgruntled terrorists in Somalia. But still the child is hungry. The bureaucrats in the UN offices and donor agencies should at least look into the plight of the Somali child who is now taking the last bite of a meal and worse than that is the fact this child does not know of the horror coming to him on the road. He does not know what is going on in his country. He only knows peace. Imagine that your child was ín such a situation! Donations to the World Food Programme is just a temporary solution but a long term solution is needed and that will not be possible until all warlords are put to jail and take insurgents to where they belong to, letting Somalia alone in peace. Sorry for posting sad poetry most of the time and for not being active in reading and reviewing your works. i really miss them as they are inspire me always when I stop by to read them.

When it comes to man...nothing surprises me anymore. But the only thing left today is not to knock but bang those closed doors until they open or come down. Reason seem the least argument, because one can't talk about hunger to a people with full bellies.
You have nothing to be sorry about, Abdi-Noor. You keep us aware of the heartbreaking problems in Somalia. It pains me so when a child has to suffer or go without food when others...so many UNDESERVING...have so much.
