Before the year ended I sat to write about my memoirs of 2009. I tried to jot down those events that have been quite important to my life. AS I surfed my diary I stumbled over so many events worth remembering but the weight of family reunion has been much heavier than any other event I have witnessed during the year 2009. In that year my family reunited with me here in Sweden after two long years.
When I grabbed the pen the story of reunion has become the most dominant one, forcing me not to allow a speck of my attention to swerve to another direction. My family and I are now happy and healthy and the children are going to school peacefully as there is no worry about flying rockets landing on them. I dedicate this poem to my family, the school management and the teachers of Maria, Huriya and Ahmed. I have one more child still remaining in the Somali war and I hope he will be safe, God Willing. Please share the bliss with me and let me say Happy New Year to you ALL.
As I explored the landscape of my mind
I descended into hole that had swallow me
Loneliness had dug it when I lived alone
But soon the dark enclave burst to light
When I heard Maria´s little funny giggle
Weaving through a delightful sound of joy
Calling me "Daddy we are here, we are safe
Injecting me with doses of a renewed energy
As the buoyancy of reunion-force lifted me up
love of family, the emotion that refuses to take second place to any other emotion -- from the heart Abdi-Noor and very well written as usual -- peace and love to you my friend and your family in this new year -- Jon Michael
Oh my. I hope you bring your son to safety.
The Somali war seems relentless.
Best of luck. Keep going through the sun and the rain.
An uplifting poem, even in the long nights of Sweden.
May God help you blast away any obstacles in your fight for right.
Abdi, there is no other joy in life than to be surrounded by your loving family. You have everything now, so enjoy and be at peace.
I know that 2010 is going to be a beautiful year for you and your family.
Much peace, love, and light, dear man,
Amber "V"
Perhaps the most sweet word any man can hear is, "daddy", said by a little voice full of wonder!
Happy New Year to you and your family, and Peace...you really deserve that!
